Baltimore Community College Athletics and the Health and Life Fitness (HLF) Department are located in the Physical Education Center (PEC). The PEC houses the HLF classrooms, main gym, cardio and weight room, dance/aerobic rooms, training rooms, general and team locker rooms, faculty and athletic staff offices.
The PEC has been host to several community events as well as the BCCC's Convocation, silent auctions, and local basketball tournaments. In September of 2008, the PEC had its basketball court resurfaced and painted to meet new NCAA basketball specifications and to display the new athletic logo. The Fitness Center was renovated in January of 2009 and a new air conditioning chiller was installed in the summer of 2009.
The PEC underwent further renovations between January 2011 and August 2012. In January 2011, the bleachers in the main gym were replaced. The red and black bleachers added color to gym and seat about 700. The upgrades continued in June 2011 when the men’s and women’s basketball locker rooms got state-of-the-art lockers and new floors. The interior and exterior of the PEC were repainted in the summer of 2012 to give the entire facility a fresh look.
