BALTIMORE, Md. – Baltimore City Community College men's basketball player Carlos Smith (Baltimore, Md./Forest Park HS) was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II National Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 22.
The 6-foot-8 sophomore forward helped BCCC (15-7, 9-3 MD JUCO) to two conference wins last week while averaging 34 points and 11 rebounds per game. Against Montgomery College-Rockville, he tallied game-highs 27 points and two blocks. In the Chesapeake game, Smith dominated on both ends of the floor, scoring a game- and career-high 41 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. He added four assists and three blocks.
Smith and the Panthers travel to Arnold, Md. to take on Anne Arundel CC at 7 p.m. on Friday.
